The 1992 Grand Ledge football team was the 3rd team in school history to go undefeated (1941 & 1973) and only the 2nd to go 9-0 (1973). They were also the first team in school history to qualify for the playoffs (fewer teams qualified at this time, even 8-1 teams were left out like GL in 1991), lastly they were the first team in school history to win 10 games. They beat East Lansing, who were the defending Class A State Champs, in one of the most famous games in Greater Lansing history. An estimated 10,000 fans showed up for the game, and GL pulled off the game by 1 point, 22-21. We have that game posted below to watch in its entirety! They would have to face the Class AA defending state champs in the regional final, Saginaw Arthur Hill, losing a close battle. Arthur Hill would return to the state title that season and lose by 1 point.
